Most people are familiar with construction and building works but what is often hard to appreciate is that someone will have needed to decide what works are taking place, how much they will cost and ensuring the works carried out are what is required and being paid for. For simple works, this can sometimes be based on a discussion and perhaps an exchange of emails or letters. For more complex bespoke works, it is necessary at the outset to identify the nature and extent of the works to be carried out. This is followed by preparing a specification which sets out in detail the work that is being carried out and the standards that are required to be achieved. On this basis, competitive prices can be obtained from contractors who are not putting their own interpretation on what the client requires.
The client therefore benefits from knowing that works being undertaken meet their own requirements and obligations and that the tender prices received are on a comparable basis. We can also handle the design, project management, co-ordination and drawings requested by clients who wish us to deal with these issues.
