The fundamental part of any construction project is the contract, setting out the terms agreed between the parties. Northwood Carter has the knowledge and expertise to know that well run contracts are beneficial for all parties and can make the difference between project success and failure.
Working in-house or part of an outside team, we can provide a full Contract Administration service, from establishing your project brief, the preparation of contract documents (including specifications and drawings) tendering and robust on-site monitoring through to completion to ensure that your project is delivered as intended and described in the contract.
Once a project is underway, on-site monitoring of quality and progress is a key component of our work where we advise on implementation of contract conditions, undertake valuations of the works, issue instructions and administer the project through to completion.
As specialist Chartered Building Surveyors, Northwood Carter can advise on building contract selection in order to ensure the most appropriate contract is used for your project. Our experience in this field is wide ranging and we are proudly at the forefront of developing recognised industry guidance with one of Northwood Carter’s Directors, Terry Northwood, playing an active role within the RICS working party to produce the current RICS Contract Administration Guidance Note.
Examples of the contracts we regularly administer are: external repair and redecoration works, internal and external maintenance of converted and purpose built blocks of flats and projects focusing on discrete parts of buildings including; defect repairs, roof replacement, concrete repairs etc.
